The City of Medicine Hat is celebrating the centennial of Finlay Bridge, once the largest bridge in Western Canada and the most important bridge across the South Saskatchewan River. An afternoon ceremony was held on the bridge at 3:30PM on Wednesday 14 May, followed by refreshments on the terrace of the Esplanade. The Archives have a photo display as well in the Esplanade. The Police Point Interpretive Centre conducted downtown walking tours and provided information about the bridge. The Historical Society provided information about historical events concerning the river and about Ewart Duggan House at the house.
